Class Notes
Everything we need to be happy already lies inside us.
Vata is clear, creative, inspired, and joyful in its highest form
Vata Qualities:
- Dry
- Light
- Cold
- Rough
- Subtle
- Mobile
- Clear
In Ayurveda, with qualities:
- Like increases like
- Most of the time we balance with the opposite
For example:
- With cold, we need warmth
- Dry, we need moisture
The movement of Wind helps to circulate, clear, and bring on new energy: a freshness
Wind is the energy of circulation and change.
Wind assists in clearing out obstacles and propels us forward.
When energy is allowed to circulate, things naturally come into balance.
Recipe for green smoothie:
- 1–2 cucumbers
- 5 stalks celery
- handful spinach
- handful arugula
- handful cilantro
- handful parsley
- 1 lemon squeezed
- 1-inch piece of ginger – grated
- 12 oz. or more Coconut water
- 1 avocado or
- 2 tbsp. – 1 olive oil
- ½ tsp. Himalayan salt
- 2 tbsp. superfood powder
- 1-2 tsp. turmeric
This smoothie is refreshing, energizing, and cleansing.
The above is a general recipe. I don’t usually measure. I mix things up.
Experiment with ingredients and amounts.
Blend in blender until smooth.
You can make it watery to drink or thick and use a spoon.
